BOAC Liberator. The risks run by the airline pilots were great. On one occasion during World War II, a homecoming BOAC Liberator was accidentally shot down at night by a British fighter.

This is the original artwork for illustration on p18 of Look and Learn issue no 868 (2 September 1978).
