This is the original painted illustration for the front cover of the Look and Learn Book 1984, painted in meticulous detail by Oliver Frey.

The painting features panels showing early computers, the charge of the light brigade, American Football, Queen Elizabeth I, the sarcophagus of Tutankhamen, a Grizzly Brown Bear, racing motor boats and pirates among other panels of interest. All the paintings are painted directly onto the thick art paper, which has subsequently been glued to a thicker art board.

Oliver Frey has signed the painting in the final circular panel, just underneath the one legged pirate wearing a cocked hat.
