This is the unique original Gouache painting by Ken Petts.

The once-proud Colonel Despard had fallen from favour. Now all he wanted to do was exact his revenge on society. He recruited a small army of criminals and mutinous soldiers with the sole purpose of killing the King (George III) and capturing London. In an absurd attempt to resist arrest, Despard tried to fight off two burly Bow Street Runners with his silk umbrella.

Treason: The Fallen Hero. From Look and Learn no. 549 (22 July 1972).
