In 1895 Richard F. Outcault began drawing the first comic strip, Hogan's Alley featuring the Yellow Kid. Presented here for the first time is the complete run of the strip in its original full colour.

The little bald headed kid Mickey Dugan wore a yellow nightshirt, and New Yorkers named him the Yellow Kid. He became a star of stage and screen and the country went wild for him. He was the first major comic strip character.

Introduction by Bill Blackbeard, with a foreword by William Randolph Hearst III. Includes 160 pages of full colour art.
